About Me:
Hi, parents! Welcome to Windham Manor Children's Place, my licensed in-home daycare and preschool in Silver Spring. MD! I’m a mother of 2 with 8 years of early childhood education experience, and I’m the owner and main caregiver of this family child care program.
I hold CPR and first-aid certifications and I am MAT trained as well (i.e. I can administer medication as needed). I also speak Amharic and at your request, I can expose your child to this foreign language (however, please note that my daycare is not a bilingual program).
Curriculum:
My curriculum consists of fun, educational activities such as reading, singing, identifying days of the week, identifying emotions, etc. Everyday there is a different table activity that the children do that revolves around the theme of the month. I also have interactive playsets that encourage motor skills, and my walls are decorated with learning posters and painted with different colors.
Program:
My daycare is open between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I can provide full-time care for infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old.
For school-aged children, I can also offer before and after-school care for kids up to 12 years old (we are close to Jackson Road Elementary school, and we can provide transportation - the cost of transportation is already included in the before and after-school care tuition).
I am part of the USDA Food program and I serve lunch and snacks to all the children in my care (also included in the tuition).
Location:
Windham Manor Children's Place is located in the Windham Manor neighborhood of Silver Spring, MD (between White Oak and Colesville, near White Oak Middle School and Meadowood Park). My daycare is conveniently located for your commute since my home is just a few minutes away from Columbia Pike (route 29) and the Intercounty Connector (route 200).

We needed a before and after care place for our 5 year old who attends an afternoon pre-k but is not yet in kindergarten and this place has been a great fit for that! We are so grateful to have found this Family Child Care! My son loves going to daycare. Everyday when I drop him off, he jumps from my arms to the caregiver's arms without any hesitation & a big smile on his face. Everyone is warm & friendly. The owner is a naturally gifted care giver. She is very loving and gentle with babies and kids. She cared for our twin daughters for two years from infancy to toddlerhood ,and we really had an amazing experience! My daughters loved going to her ,and they are always joyful when they see her. It is an excellent daycare if you are looking for a small group daycare. The owner and her sister take very good care of babies as though they are their own babies. They look after babies with care and pay attention to details. Our baby is usually a happy one, but he is always happy to see her when we drop him off at daycare. We LOVE this daycare center - and our daughter loves it too! Our daughter has absolutely blossomed since starting at her daycare. We've seen her learn so much since starting and are excited to see her continue to see her grow. She is so thrilled to arrive each morning and is sad when she has to leave each evening because she has so much fun. The facilities are clean, stocked with lots of new toys and educational materials and safe.

The teachers are very friendly, my daughter loves them. She was comfortable around them since the first day! My daughter jumps in this provider's arms every morning and she’s greeted with a smile. It makes me feel a little more comfortable knowing she enjoys being there. This provider is very attentive and is sure to report to me any concerns she has during pick up.

This provider is so warm and caring. She has been very patient and skilled in helping our daughter get adjusted to daycare. It is such a relief to go off to work knowing that your child is in such a gentle and loving environment.

This provider treats the children as her own. She welcomes them everyday with a smile and my child has a very easy transition. My 1st child goes to her. She has a very well run facility that I feel meets all the needs of children.
