Welcome to Ivy Glen Playhouse, our bilingual Spanish daycare and preschool in Silver Spring, MD! Our licensed facility is located at the junction of Garrett Park, North Kensington, and Wheaton-Glenmont. We’re right off Ivy Glen Rd, close to Veirs Mill Local Park. With easy access to Connecticut Ave (route 185) and Veirs Mill Rd (route 586), your daily commute will be seamless!

Our home-based daycare is more than just a place where children spend their day, it's an environment designed to foster growth and creativity. With an Outdoor Play Area, Fenced Facilities, Video Cameras for added security, a Separate Nap Room for peaceful rest, and a Nursing/Breastfeeding Room, we've created a space that feels like a second home!

About The Program:

Ivy Glen Playhouse is proud to offer a bilingual Spanish child care and preschool program that enriches your child's language skills from the very beginning. We provide care infants as young as 3 months old to toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. We open our doors at 7:30 am until 5:30 pm, from Monday through Friday. To accommodate working parents’ flexible schedules, we offer full-time care as well as part-time care. Snacks are provided daily (included in the tuition!), and are prepared in a tree nut and peanut-free environment.

We warmly welcome children with special needs and are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone. To ensure each child’s safety and well-being, we work closely with parents to understand their individual needs and determine how we can best provide appropriate care and support. Kindly note that, at present, our facilities are not equipped to accommodate children who use wheelchairs. We appreciate your understanding and hope to expand our capabilities in the future.

About The Caregiver:

Hi parents! As the owner and main caregiver, I bring 11 years of invaluable experience to our daycare. Four of those years were spent working at a licensed daycare center, followed by two years in another home-based daycare facility. I am also CPR and First Aid certified.

This journey has been more than just a career; it's a vocation that I discovered early on in life. I've always had a desire to care for children. Starting my own daycare allowed me to channel that passion into a purpose. I believe that education begins at home, and by providing a loving, nurturing environment, I can contribute to the foundation of a child's early learning experience.

Daily Activities:

At Ivy Glen Playhouse, mornings begin with joyful songs, circle time and a variety of activities such as dancing or exercises, setting a positive tone for the day. Children then enjoy free time for exploration, and if the weather is nice, we go for outdoor play. We then wind down a bit with activities like arts, crafts, and storytelling.

Lunch and snack times are not just nourishing but also entertaining, accompanied by music. After lunch, children rest during nap time, followed by more outdoor fun. Finally, the day winds down with literature, stimulating their minds before children prepare to leave.
