About Me
Thank you for your interest in Springfield Forest Kids Playhouse, my home daycare in Springfield, VA! My place is a friendly, home-like environment, where your bundle of joy will be happy, engaged and safe. Here, your child's happiness and comfort is our priority! I’m the owner and main caregiver of this nurturing child care program. I hold an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and I’m CPR & First-aid certified. Before opening my own daycare, I worked as a preschooler teacher at another licensed facility.
Program
My family child care program is open from 7:30 am and closes at 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I personalize care for each child's schedule for nutrition, sleep and any other special attention he/she might require. I provide full-time care for 3 month old babies, as well as toddlers through preschoolers up to 3.5 years old. I run a peanut and tree-nut free environment and serve healthy morning and afternoon snacks to all children in my care (included in the tuition!)
Curriculum
I follow the Play-based learning philosophy to promote learning through play and offer fun activities such as workbooks, puzzles, creative play, colors, shapes, reading books, coloring and writing, speech development, arts & crafts, and music. This approach helps my little students develop their socio-emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.
I have a beautiful learning space that is colorful, well-furnished, decorated, and organized. I have several play stations for Lego blocks, activity sets, and puzzles. There's another area with larger trucks and playsets that encourages different levels of motor skills. My space is open with a lot of room for children to play and I have individualized space for each child with artwork and cubbies.
If weather permits, I take them out to my fenced backyard with age-appropriate structures where they can enjoy their outdoor playtime. In addition to English, I also speak Amharic and at your request, I can expose your child to this foreign language. At my daycare, I prioritize children’s happiness, safety, learning, and growth!
Location
Springfield Forest Kids Playhouse is located in the Springfield Forest neighborhood of Springfield, VA. My home is right off Franconia Rd (route 644), near the Springfield Commons shopping mall (with Home Depot and Best Buy). Your daily commute will be fast and convenient since I'm a minute away from the I-95, and a short drive from the I-495.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the care my daughter received for the time she was with her. This was our first experience and she made us all feel very safe. I immediately could tell Harlee was loved while in their care. She provided multiple updates through the day so we knew how each day was going, ensured Harlee was getting the right stimulus needed for her age. The facilty was clean and organized.

We love this daycare! The facilities are immaculate, and the “student-to-teacher” ratio is lower than anywhere else we looked. My daughter loves the teachers, and I really appreciate the individual care and attention they give her every day!

We've had our 3 month old at this daycare care for about a month, and so far the experience has been very positive. Our child arrives and leaves in a good mood, the facilities are clean and quite spacious, with plenty of room to keep the infants separated from the toddlers. The teachers also mask up at pick up/drop off to reduce adult spread, and inform us when colds are starting to circulate so we can be prepared.

This provider and her staff are amazing! The facilities are very clean and roomy. The staff are always so pleasant and genuinely care for my son. He truly loves going and smiles so big when I drop him off every morning. What was very impressive to me and my husband, was her response to the COVID situation. We are so thrilled to have such a wonderful and loving place to take care of our 8 month old. She has been going there for 5 months now and we love the peace of mind we have dropping her off every day. You can tell they truly care about the children. We have been taking our son here since he was 6 weeks old (he's now a little over 5 months). The daycare space is huge and very well laid out, with a separate padded area for the little little ones. The location makes it super easy to get to work via metro or onto 95/395/495. It has a good family feel, and the ladies are fabulous. We love knowing our son is well taken care of when we have to work!

Our child has been attending daycare for the past almost three months. We had a different daycare provider in the past and I felt anxiety every day leaving our child with her but not with this provider. Our baby is so happy in her care. He smiles, he learns (probably faster than if he only stayed home with me), and he’s happy there. He’s happy, we’re happy, and I can’t say enough good things!
