Welcome to Applegate Children's Place, a licensed daycare and preschool conveniently located in the Applegate Condominium subdivision of Suitland, MD. Just off Applegate Ln and Old Branch Ave, we’re easily accessible from Branch Ave (MD 5), St Barnabas Rd (MD 414), and just minutes from I-95.

Program

We’re open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Our child care program offers both full-time and part-time options for infants starting at just 6 weeks old, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to age 5.

To support your child’s health and well-being, we provide daily nutritious snacks, all prepared in a tree nut and peanut-free environment—ideal for families with allergy concerns.

About Me

Hello parents! I’m the owner and primary caregiver at Applegate Children’s Place. With over 3 years of hands-on child care experience and a CPR certification, I’m deeply committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and structured space for your child to learn and grow.

As a parent myself, I understand how hard it can be to find child care you can truly trust. That’s why I created this in-home daycare program: to offer dependable, high-quality care that gives families peace of mind. 😊

I’m passionate about early childhood development and believe in building strong partnerships with parents to meet each child’s unique needs. My goal is to help children feel safe, confident, and inspired to reach their full potential every day.

Curriculum and Daily Activities

Our curriculum focuses on social, emotional, and developmental learning, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and cooperation through fun, play-based activities.

• Our day starts with calm morning activities like reading, puzzles, or building blocks, helping children ease into the day. After washing hands, we sit down together for a healthy breakfast, practicing social skills and table manners.
• We then move into circle time, where we greet one another, sing songs, discuss the weather, and enjoy story time. The rest of the morning is filled with hands-on learning through arts and crafts, sensory play, letter and number recognition, shapes, music, and movement.
• Weather permitting, we head outside to the nearby community playground for active outdoor play. This supports gross motor development and gives kids a chance to enjoy fresh air.
• Afterwards, we return inside to clean up and have lunch with soft background music, creating a relaxed atmosphere. After lunch, it’s nap time with dim lights, cozy mats, and soft music. Once rested, children enjoy a healthy afternoon snack followed by free play that encourages independence and creativity.
• As the day winds down, we help children get ready for pick-up while promoting self-help skills like putting on shoes and jackets, ending the day with confidence and smiles.
