About Us
Welcome to Colvins Glen Educational Playhouse, my educational daycare and preschool in Vienna, VA! My child care program is located in a beautiful, bright and large home the Covins Glen neighborhood of Vienna, right off Leesburg Pike (route 7) and Hunter Mill Rd (route 674). Your commute to work will be convenient since our facility has easy access to the Dulles Access Rd (route 267) and Fairfax County Pkwy (route 286).
I’m the owner and lead teacher and I have 15 years of experience in providing quality care and early childhood education. I’m a mother of 2 myself, and I hold a Master’s degree in Accounting. I run the program with my 2 assistants who have 9 years of combined experience. We are CPR and First-aid certified, so you can be assured that your child is in good hands at all times!
Philosophy & Curriculum
We understand how difficult it is for parents to leave their precious ones whenever they have to go to work, that is why we give every child the personal care and attention they deserve and we strive to make them feel at home in a safe and nurturing environment. Our curriculum is designed to develop each child’s physical, socio-emotional and intellectual skills. We also use positive reinforcement to foster discipline and we teach our little students to be kind.
Our home-based daycare and preschool program follows the Play-based teaching philosophy. We allow our students to learn through play and exploration; we prepare fun and educational activities for them to learn and grow. We have many age-appropriate activities included in their daily schedules such as arts & crafts, singing and music, dancing, painting, coloring, free play, and various fun, creative, educational projects!
Our Program
We are open from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We provide full-time care for infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old for children between the age of 2 and 5 years old. We also offer before and after school care for older kids, up to 12 years old (our facility is not far from Forest Edge Elementary School, Aldrin Elementary School, Colvin Run Elementary School and Forestville Elementary School).
We are part of the USDA food program and follow the state FDA food program. We serve balanced and home-made nutritious meals to all children in our care (breakfast, lunch and snacks are all included in the tuition) and due to possible allergies, we run peanut and tree-nut free environment.

Our daughter loves going to spend time with the caregiver. It’s easy to see that she cares a lot for the kids and treats the kids as if they are her own kids. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for childcare!

I can't say enough good things about this program! My son (now 6 months) started when he was only 8 weeks old and I never worried about the care he was getting for a minute. Every morning when I drop him off he has big smiles and giggles, and when I pick him up he is laughing and smiling. I can tell how loved he is, which to me is just as important as him being safe and well cared for.

YOU ARE LUCKY IF YOU CAN GET A SPOT! This family child care is truly a family. I don't even know how to begin with all the ways that the owner and staff gave us peace of mind and our daughter, our only child, a fantastic day care experience. Our little one has been attending since he was 8 months old and loves his second home! We know he loves it there when half the time he barely can even give us a goodbye because he’s running inside. He is 2 1/2 now and we are always complimented on how well he shares and interacts with children of any age. We contribute that to his time spent here for sure.

Our experience with this daycare has been absolutely incredible. The provider puts her whole heart into her job and joy radiates from her! I cannot express enough how amazing this daycare is. This provider has treated my son as one of her own since the day he started at just 12 weeks old. We are so happy we found this daycare. She cares just like her own son. It feels so good to see a happy child when you go to pickup. Kids are always so loving and happy around the provider. Her two children also spend time with kids in the evening and it just feels like another family environment. We could not ask for more.

A fantastic environment. Our toddler and newborn are both in attendance. We could not be happier with the warm, safe and educational environment offered. We are consistently amazed at the manners and developmental growth our toddler has shown since attending this facility. Quite simply we could not be more comfortable with our kids attending this facility.

We couldn't be happier with this daycare. Our son was almost 4 months old when he started daycare here and although it has only been a few months since he started, it already feels like a second home for him. We’re so happy with the care that this provider gave our son and daughter. She cared for our children like one of her own for 3 1/2 years. My son began coming to this daycare at 6 months and only left at 3.5 years old when we moved. I could not be any happier with the time we spent with this provider. As the other reviews said, she cared for my son like he was her own. My son experienced some difficulties with feeding in his first year. My daughter Samantha went to this provider for over 3 years. We couldn't have been happier. This provider loves babies and cares for all kids as if they were her own. She taught our daughter good manners, helped educate numbers and letters and potty training. She has a beautiful house and a fantastic kids facility. She is like family to us now.
