With the unconventional start to the new school year, parents are trying to figure out: 1) how are they going to work, 2) how are they going to support their child's virtual school program, and 3) how are they going to do both effectively? The Y in Central Maryland has worked closely with local school systems to develop a safe program that meets the needs of parents and students. We tested this program with school administrators and thousands of parents to confirm it will meet the diverse needs of families and educators. The Y is extremely well-versed in keeping children and families safe during these times. Since March 2020, we have safely served thousands of children and families in Y Emergency Childcare for Essential Workers, Y Preschool, Y Camp, and in Y Centers.
