Elham's Home Daycare
Elham's Home Daycare is a licensed home daycare in Bethesda, MD. We offer full-time child care for infants as young as 3 months, toddlers, and preschoolers until 5 years old. We are open Mon-Fri 7:30am to 6pm and we're located near Massachusetts Ave and Little Falls Parkway (near Westland Middle School and the Little Falls Library). We believe that every child has a great potential and capacity for learning across all developmental domains: physical, emotional, social and cognitive. We help children grow and learn through love, patience, and understanding. We know that adults play an important role in laying the foundation for lifelong learning success. Our priority is to guide each child during each stage of growth and help them to develop their intelligence, keeping in mind their needs and interests. We offer a bilingual environment and emphasize the importance of learning a second language; in addition to English, we teach Persian and Spanish. Learning a second language helps children become independent, confident, and helps develop a high self-esteem. Elham's Home Daycare is a small family child care program, and are in process of getting accredited by NAFCC. Safety is a priority and we've received all the important trainings including: Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Emergency Preparedness and Planning, Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED. We're also proud to offer an Inclusive Early Childhood Education Program, to focus on family diversity, and to support breastfeeding in child care.
Bradmoor Educational Playhouse
About Me Welcome to Bradmoor Educational Playhouse, my licensed home daycare and preschool in Bethesda, MD. I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have 13 years of child care and early education experience. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and I’m CPR & First-aid certified. I am an experienced teacher, and my passion is working with children. I just love being immersed in their world! A dream came true when operating my family child care program, a place where I create a nurturing, creative, and joyful environment for children. Before opening my own home-based daycare, I was a teacher at a multilingual international elementary school in California. Prior to working there, I was also a teacher in Iran after earning a degree in communication. I am very passionate about art and early childhood education, and I am determined to expand my knowledge in this field. Philosophy I truly believe in creating an environment conducive to curiosity, creativity, and altruism. I think that a simple but organized environment, in which natural materials play a pivotal role, best serves my educational purpose and is productive for learning and growing. Most of my teaching materials are Montessori-based. Curriculum I have taken advantage of elements of the Waldorf teaching philosophy to encourage and nurture creativity and imagination in children. I also employ elements of the Reggio Emilia approach to develop a curriculum that is reflective of my mindfulness of the children's different personalities. Having these differences in mind, I strive to instill in children a profound respect and understanding for the world they live in. In addition to English, I speak Farsi, Persian and Turkish and upon your request, I can expose your little one to these foreign languages (however, please note that my daycare is not a bilingual program). Program My family child care program is open year-round from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. I provide full-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 6 weeks and 5 years old. I run a peanut and tree-nut free environment and can serve lunch (with additional fee) to your child. Location Bradmoor Educational Playhouse is in the Bradmoor neighborhood of Bethesda, MD. I’m right off Greentree Rd, near Bradley Park, within walking distance from Bradley Hills Elementary School (also close to Wyngate Elementary School and Bethesda Elementary School). Your commute to work will be convenient since I have easy access to Old Georgetown Rd (route 187), Bradley Blvd (route 191) and the Capital Beltway (I-495). Please call or send an email to book a tour, I would love to meet your family :)

CURRICULUM The various programs offered at Rockville Day Care incorporate all the basic areas of learning into the curriculum. The curriculum offered to both preschool and school age children is designed to foster social, emotional, physical, artistic and intellectual development through play and exploration. Children are encouraged to learn at their own pace in an atmosphere that is relaxed and nurturing. The important result is the development of a positive attitude toward learning and an enthusiasm for it. Rockville Day Care uses the Creative Curriculum for our preschool programs. Lesson plans are written weekly and posted in the classroom for parent information and reference. In addition to this resource, RDCA employs Program Directors who visit each classroom on a periodic basis. They serve as a resource to Directors, and the classroom teaching staff, to ensure that the program meets our objectives, to assist with classroom management techniques, help provide ideas for room arrangement and to observe interactions between staff, parents and children. Parents are encouraged to review the curriculum. Suggestions or ideas from parents are always welcome. The variety of activities provided in our programs help to promote growth in these areas of development. Children may choose to participate in creative dramatics, block building, arts and crafts, stories and finger plays, music and movement activities, sand and water play, science and nature activities, manipulative and small motor activities, basic math concepts, reading readiness, outdoor recreational activities, community awareness and field trips. Each day is balanced with opportunities for individual exploration with materials and equipment available in the classroom (generally referred to as free play) at activity centers, and teacher directed small group and large group activities that reinforce weekly themes and promote cognitive skills. Children are also guided to develop appropriate social skills and problem solving techniques. The actual daily routine, schedule and lesson plans are available for parent review in each classroom. Please check the Parent Information area in your classroom for more details. The daily schedule will vary from program to program and is dependent on the age of the children in the group, the needs and interests of the class, the incorporation of swimming, field trips and special events into the daily routine, planned meals, rest periods, outdoor play, etc. Schedules are developed by each classroom teacher. The teachers observe the needs and interests of the group and adjust their schedules accordingly. Rockville Day Care offers exciting summer programs for preschool and school age students. Our programs operate on a full day schedule and tuition covers all activities, swimming, field trips, special events, materials, meals (breakfast, lunch supplement and snack) and extended hours.
