"I was referred to this childcare center by a friend. My son attended this home daycare from 2 months to 3 years old. I could not be happier with the experience. I was very nervous being a new mom"

Learning Station Child Care

About Us: Hi Parents, thank you for your interest in Learning Station Child Care, my home-based daycare and preschool in Accokeek, MD. I’m the owner... and main caregiver and I have 14 years of experience in child care and early childhood education. I’m CPR & First-aid certified, as well as MAT trained (if needed, I can administer medication to all children in my care). Upon becoming a mother, I remembered how refreshing it is to contribute significantly to children's social, emotional and intellectual growth. So, I decided to stay home with my own children (I'm a mom of 4!) I also decided to help other parents within my community by providing child care services where I am able to watch other children evolve by providing the same loving and nurturing care as I do with my own. Learning Station Child Care is located in the Simmons Acres neighborhood in Accokeek, MD. My home is right off Indian Head Hwy (route 210), not far from the Manokeek Village Center, with easy access to Livingston Rd, Berry Rd and Bensville Rd. Curriculum and Program Since we all have different learning styles, I decided to use various teaching methods not determined by a child's age, but rather by the rate and speed at which a child can acquire one skill before moving on to another skill. In addition to that, I also follow the Play-based approach to make sure children are engaged and have fun while learning. My family child care and preschool program is open year-round from 6 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. I can provide full-time care and before and after school care for children from 22 months old up to 6 years old, including children with special needs. Snacks are already included in the tuition and served to all children attending my program. Standard tuition is for a maximum of 10 hours per day (please email to inquire about daycare rates if you need more than 10 hours). Please contact me to schedule a visit, I look forward to meeting your family!

Chicos Little Explorers

Chico's Little Explorers have been promoting a program designed for the individualized and unique development of each child. Through our curriculum... the children learn a second language – in our program they learn Spanish through rhymes, songs, and daily activities. During circle time, we always tend to focus on one learning specialty at a time; for example, we focus in learning the names of shapes one month and then learn colors the following month. We also have a computer program. During the summer and the holidays, we organize field trips. We go to the library so that they can experience and learn through art crafts and reading time. Through these activities, the children have opportunities to grow physically, emotionally, and intellectually. As the owner of Chico's Little Explorers, we are specialized trained and certified as a pre-school teacher. We are trained in a food and medicine program, also know as Medication Administration Training (MAT). We are very knowledge of Daycare Regulations. Another reason parents prefer our daycare is that I provide a special care to each child; each child has his/her special needs met and is treated as a unique individual educating them in a healthy and pleasant atmosphere so he/she feels at home. One of the things that distinguishes us from other daycares is bilingualism, a unique benefit that allows parents and their children to feel amongst family. We like the kids and parents to feel welcomed and at home. We believe that having a connection with the child allows them to be happy and to express who they are more easily.
