Hastings Ranch Nursery School
Learning to live together with differences perceived positively is our cooperative philosophy; building self-esteem through mastery of skills in all areas of development is our goal. We believe everyone is special, everyone is unique, and everyone is loved. HRNS strives to nurture the whole family by providing support, partnership, and resources that enable parents to meet the challenges of parenting. Parents at HRNS are committed to the education and socialization of their children and are eager to get involved. They provide snacks, share talents, pass on family tradition, and take an active role in their children's learning when they work in the classroom. Our parents are valued for their dedication to quality education and their understanding of the uniqueness of each child. Our school thrives because of the partnership with parents. Philosophy “Learning to live together” with differences perceived positively is our cooperative philosophy and building self-esteem through mastery of skills in all areas of development is our goal. We believe everyone is special, everyone is unique, and everyone is loved. Research indicates that young children learn best using their senses to explore concrete experiences and that they need many opportunities to initiate learning on their own and need periods of choice alternating with periods of guidance. The daily routine is simple but consistent because we know children feel more secure when there is order in their lives. Group times, self-directed play, and quiet times are part of the curriculum. Classes are small with children in multi-aged groups. The adult/child ratio is low and the facility is secure, spacious, and exciting. Children have time and space to learn and to grow. Children leave HRNS eager to learn and excited about school. HRNS strives to nurture the whole family by providing support, partnership, and resources that enable parents to meet the challenges of parenting. Parents at HRNS are committed to the education and socialization of their children and are willing to spend the time and energy to be involved. They provide a variety of snacks, share talents and family traditions, and take an active role in their children's learning when they work in the classroom. Our parents are valued for their dedication to quality education and their understanding of the uniqueness of each child. Curriculum HRNS's curriculum is based on developmental theory and is carefully planned by the teachers. It is implemented with the belief that play is a child's work. Play is the natural mode of learning for your child, who is learning at all times. Children move through sequential stages of development in four interrelated areas: Physical (gross and fine motor) Social (peer interaction, social skills and awareness) Emotional (self-esteem, awareness and recognitions of feelings, healthy balance) Cognitive (comprehension, language development, problem solving and skill acquisition) We place equal importance on all major areas of development. Through careful observation of play, teachers are able to assess development and add challenges as needed to further individual growth. Children develop feelings of competency and motivation for learning when provided opportunities for play and individual choice. Learning occurs when the child is actively involved with the materials of the environment: sensory experiences. Therefore the staff provides “hands-on” activities in creative art, music, science, math, literature, movement, and dramatic play. The Classroom is arranged to provide ample choices for children and to encourage independent thinking, and a gentle unfolding of abilities and age-appropriate mastery of skills The teacher's role is to facilitate and enrich this learning process. Art of many kinds is available to the children daily, from the simplest crayon and paper drawings to carpentry and multi-technique projects such as finger-painting and collage. Our philosophy is that the process is important, not the product, so adults are asked to please refrain from giving advice or help on art creations. Let the children use the variety of open-ended materials as they choose, as long as they are safe and respectful of their “neighbors” and the school property.

Kids Klub Pasadena

Kids Klub is Pasadena’s premier child development center where every day leads to a new discovery! Owned and operated by husband and wife team... Michael and Bambi Wojciechowski, Kids Klub was founded to provide, “…a place where children receive quality care in an environment that is safe, clean, and nurturing, with endless opportunities for learning through discovery; ... a place that not only fosters a child's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development, but that takes it a step further by teaching the basics of discipline, respect and manners as well; ... a place that understands the stress of today's lifestyle and responds by opening early and staying open late; ... a place that is even open weeknights and weekends, so parents can have a night out!" At Kids Klub, we are committed to providing the best possible care for your child, while also being responsive to your needs as parents. This is a unique and innovate approach to childcare. Our philosophy is a "Back to Basics" approach where we provide a safe, clean and stimulating environment for children to play, learn and grow in, while teaching the children self-esteem, respect and responsibility. Our belief in learning through the process of discovery is exemplified in our many educational "Discovery Areas" where children learn in a hands-on environment. Here they have opportunities that will spark their interest, stimulate their curiosity and invite interaction that they would not encounter in a home setting. Our modern, expansive facility allows us to provide parents with a place where all the needs of their child can be met under one roof, including: Infant Care, PreSchool, Afterschool Care, Evening & Weekend Drop-Off Care and extra-curricular classes. We even offer great camps. Philosophy: Kids Klub has a "Back-to-Basics" approach when working with children, allowing them to reach their full potential for proper growth and development. We do not follow the latest trends in developmental philosophies which span from "Child-Directed", where the children do what they want whenever they want, to the other side of the spectrum "Teacher-Dictated" where the teachers rule with a iron hand, pushing academics above all else and expecting children to sit behind a desk for hours at a time. Instead, we provide scheduled learning times, outdoor play, and free play within a consistent routine. Our caregivers cue into your child's individual needs. With Kids Klub's "Back-to Basics" approach, the teachers help instill values, role-model appropriate behavior, and teach valuable lessons the child needs for a solid foundation in life. It is vital that the children learn about their "Self" since they are naturally developing their self-image, self-control, self-respect and independence. Through guided play and discovery, the child learns not only about himself, but also learns to respect others, and appreciate his environment. Kids Klub's modern, expansive facility allows us to provide the highest level of quality care and supervision. A child’s environment significantly influences his development and growth. Therefore, Kids Klub has gone to great lengths to create an environment that is clean, secure and stimulating. Throughout our many Discovery areas, we utilize a hands-on approach to learning. Equipped with age-appropriate activities, our teachers are skilled and prepared to make each discovery and opportunity a learning experience for your child. This discovery process provides the building blocks necessary to promote your child's physical, social, emotional and cognitive development. At Kids Klub, your child is a member of a club designed specifically to meet his needs and yours. Most all your childcare needs can be met under one roof: from evening and weekend drop-off care, to parent education seminars, to dance, gymnastics and karate classes. We achieve this by providing a place that is open 7-days a week, operates during early mornings and late evenings, and has flexible scheduling for enrollment, and of course, a caring staff! We have designed our policies to be "parent friendly" so you will not find any hidden costs. We do not require parents to work at the Center or to assist in fundraising events. We believe that your level or method of involvement at Kids Klub is your choice. Furthermore, with our evening hours you need not worry about being 15 minutes late when picking up your child. Traditional late fees do not exist at Kids Klub. With our reasonable hourly rates, we will happily keep your child involved until you arrive. Kids Klub Pasadena is a licensed child care center in Pasadena, CA with the license issued by the L. A. Day Care-East (33). We are a medium-sized center. Please email us for more information.

Child Educational Center

For infants and toddlers, the program focuses on four areas: -self-esteem and personal awareness; -communication skills; -social skills; and... -physical development. Self-awareness and positive self concept are fostered by the caregivers through close personal contact, communication with positive reinforcement, permitting freedom of activity, and respect for the child as an individual. Communication skills are fostered through thoughtful speaking with the children during routine tasks and in stories, music, and the description of activities occurring in their presence. Social development is largely a function of the babies' interaction with adults, however, their development is enhanced through physical contact, interaction in play, and structured group activities. Physical development is the foundation upon which cognitive development is based. Responsive adults provide the most significant experience, but the environment and physical activities are structured to maximize development. Infants are supported and encouraged in their natural inclination for independent physical activity. While the developmental issues for infants and toddlers are similar, certain differences are addressed in the toddler program. Toddlers are more mobile, more capable, and experiencing significant language development. Their program features a more challenging yard, with climbing structures and opportunities to take walks around the school. Group activities are begun featuring singing, playing musical instruments, playing movement games, and hearing stories. Because toddlers' attention spans are short and rapidly shifting, the program is highly flexible and individualized. Children are placed in groups based on the following considerations: -development (emotional, social, cognitive, physical), -chronological age, -peer relations, and -available space. Children generally remain with the same group until the following September, unless developmental considerations warrant other placement. The daily schedule provides for activities specifically geared to the similar developmental level of children in each classroom, as well as opportunities for children of different ages and developmental levels to interact, teach and learn from one another. Colonial House Preschool

Consider a preschool that blends the latest philosophies and offers a multifaceted program that mirrors its diverse community. Consider a school... environment that brings out the best feelings in your child? reminiscent of its small town charm or the simple comfort of your child's home. Consider your young child being skillfully guided through their day with the use of past values and contemporary instruction. Consider your child growing, reaching, and wanting to explore more in their use of music, language and art? We have. The Colonial House Preschool is growing up. Consider growing with us. Founded in the fall of 2000, Colonial House Preschool was the dream of early childhood educator, Joanna Hawkins. Colonial House Preschool was formed to not only create a unique environment for young children but to challenge the surrounding community of educators: it creates a safe and imaginative educational environment for children two through six years of age. Colonial House ideals are based on the mixed-age classroom where students can learn from each other. Although traditional age-based classrooms serve well for most, we, at Colonial House, feel that a child can experience so much more during the process of education while being a mentor or mentee. Today, Colonial House has grown into a multifaceted program, rich in diversity with a passion for creativity within our programming. While tradition can be learned from, Colonial House pushes towards educational opportunities not readily available to most. The early mixed-age classrooms have grown into center-based environments that foster independence, self-reliance and instill a love for learning in a nurturing environment. The teachers at Colonial House comprise a wide cross section from our local community and beyond, bringing with them highly educated backgrounds and passion from their own life experiences. The creativity and the drive can be seen from the teachers at Colonial House, as each and every child is considered a unique part of our very special community. Colonial House serves Preschool aged children from two to six years of age with half to Full Day options. At the core of the program is our Pre-K mixed aged classroom with options to attend two, three or five days. The children in the Pre-K program, regardless of the days they attend have access to all of our Centers that are listed below. The center based classroom works on a four-week rotation to create a balance in their educational needs. We also offer a T.K. program that ensures the readiness of your child for their first experience in Kindergarten. Limited in size, this program exposes your child to Kindergarten level work in our small group environment while letting the child indicate their pace. Through out the year, the Pre-K and T.K. children participate in a number of local walking field trips. These trips are always educational in material and a fun way to learn about their community. Colonial House serves toddlers with our First Year’s program starting at age two. This program is a wonderful introduction to the classroom environment for the child just leaving the nest or the seasoned independent child ready for a Full Day. We work closely with First Year’s students and parents to ensure they transition well to their new environment, as each and every child is considered a unique part of our very special community.
