Thank you for visiting La Petite Academy educational daycare in Fairfax Station, VA! My name is Melissa and I am the director. I have over 100 semester hours of college and my CDA. I have been with La Petite Academy since 2000 and have been a director for over 5 years. In addition to providing superior local infant care, our preschool program and kindergarten options offer the best early education in the Fairfax Station community! We are in process of becoming nationally accredited by NECPA (National Early Childhood Program Accreditation). We work very hard every day to meet and exceed NECPA's high standards. Our goal is to finish the accreditation process by February 2013. I run this school here in Fairfax Station like everyone is an extension of my own family - the children, parents, and teachers. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment and maintain an open-door policy for anyone who would like to talk. We plan a lot of events for everyone to participate in and I work hard to ensure that families meet each other and develop strong relationships. It is very important to me to build a community here! I find extremely rewarding when I overhear a child telling their parents about the great day they had and how much fun they had with their teachers. We are fortunate to have an outstanding team that is dedicated to our children and families! Our teachers truly love all of the children in their classes! At least 3/4ths of our teachers have over 5 years of teaching experience. All of our teachers receive monthly training and are required 24 hours of training per year. We value the relationships we have with our families and work hard to involve them. We offer a number of opportunities for our families to volunteer in the classroom and on monthly events, including Parents' Night Out!
