Children's Corner Daycare, Fort Washington

Dear Parents, I would like to thank you for your interest in our services and take this opportunity to introduce myself and my staff. I am the Owner/Director of Children Corner Daycare. We are a family child care facility licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education. I have been caring for children professionally for the past three years. I am a member of [redacted]; a resource for child care providers like myself, who are interested in raising the standards of child care safety, CPR, effective methods of nurturing positive growth and development in children, and also proper nutrition for children and craft ideas. I am also a member of the Maryland EXCELS, which is a voluntary Tiered Quality Rating and Improvement System (TQRIS) for Child Care Centers, School-Age Child Care Programs, Family Child Care Homes, and Public Pre-Kindergartens. I have a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and I am continuing a Masters Degree in Business Management. I am a retired employee of Lockheed Martin Corporation. I also plan to open a day care center in the near future. We have the capacity to care for eight (8) children at this initial facility. I have chosen to care for children because I enjoy watching them learn and grow. Child care continues to be a rewarding experience for me. It is wonderful to see how well children respond to a supportive and loving environment. I know that by teaching young children, I am making a long term contribution to the people they will become.
