We are a family-based daycare on Travilah Road in the North Potomac/Rockville area. My husband and I have been caring for children for a very long time! From the time our own children were little 34 years ago, we have always have many children around that we cared for - those of family, friends, and neighbors. We continued the tradition after we became a licensed daycare provider a few years ago. Our own 2 children are grown now and have successful careers in the DC area. Our philosophy is that we genuinely love and respect each child. Even babies and little ones can sense when the adult is really engaged with them. Our belief is that when children feel loved and cared for, they are happy -and do much better with all aspects of their day, such as transitions, drop off/pick up time, eating, napping, potty training, socializing, and learning. We pay special attention to the individual cues and need of each baby and child, and are able to adapt the environment to match individual needs. We collaborate with the children's families on any special requests from parents. Also, we provide healthy, hot home cooked vegetarian meals that are cooked fresh daily. You do not need to send any packed foods! We feel that children learn through play, movement, and through opportunities to socialize with other children. We stimulate our children with age-appropriate toys, have story and music time, teach them how to count using manipulatives and teach them reading.
