Happy Place Family Child Care is a year-round home-based daycare in Silver Spring, MD. Our family child care program is run by Sara O'Brien who has 10 years of child care experience and has a Child Development Associate degree. We are open from 7:00am until 5:45pm and care for children as young as 6 weeks through 6 years old, including children with special needs. We offer preschool, as well as, both full time and part time child care, including drop in care. We also have before and after school care for children up to 6 years old. We provide meals and offer a peanut and tree-nut free environment. Happy Place Family Child Care is a language immersion program that offers English and Spanish. We use a play based curriculum. The provider put me at ease leaving my infants with her, often holding and nurturing the babies, setting up nap schedules, and allowing me to provide pumped breast milk for feedings. I feel extremely lucky to have found Sara. She has cared for both of my children. At Sara's in-home daycare, there is a strong feeling of family and lots and lots of love! It is easy to see that Sara loves the children and her family loves the kids as well! My girls love all of them right back!! My 2 year old has been going to Sara since she was 4 months old. Sara is so special to us and our daughter. She knows our daughter as well as my husband and I do and our little one adores her. I've been very lucky, finding Sara. I should preface this by a few things. I was raised in at-home daycares. They usually put me in front of a TV and I learned nothing. My son has been with Sara for a year. He knows Spanish words, usually plays well with others, Sara doesn't even have a TV for her own kids to watch and I really feel like Sara helps me parent.
