Samina's Little Jewels
My name is Samina, and I have built my child care to reflect my fifteen years of professional experience and passionate interest in the business, as well as twenty+ years of experience of raising my own three lovely children. Early development is fundamental to the growth of your child. My tactics teach my children academic and social behaviors, and my aim is to nurture them through both physical and mental growth. My curriculum is play-based, and daily preschool activities include reading and writing skills, recognition and conceptual understanding of numbers and language, learning shapes, colors, and nursery rhymes. Children learn through singing, dancing, toys, books, and repetitive oral exercises. My curriculum prepares children with a head start to succeed in kindergarten. I give them opportunities to be active. Your children are kept engaged and happy with our fun, all-encompassing developmental activities. This is a place where they Learn. Share. Laugh. Grow. Where education care and play go hand in hand. My daughter assists me as a part-time assistant. She has a bachelor's degree in Science, and she helps entertain the kids and manage their activities with creative new ideas. I try to keep a small group to provide quality care and individual attention. This home child care is located in a beautiful, safe neighborhood, close to Tyson's corner at Jarret Valley Dr. My health and safety policies are designed strictly with your child's well-being in mind. My facility's hygiene is of prime importance. My childcare facility is on a ground floor, with plenty of healthy sunlight from large windows. It is equipped with a large, safe outdoor playing area. Philosophy & Curriculum We understand how difficult it is for parents to leave their precious ones whenever they have to go to work, that is why we give every child the personal care and attention they deserve and we strive to make them feel at home in a safe and nurturing environment. Our curriculum is designed to develop each child’s physical, socio-emotional and intellectual skills. We also use positive reinforcement to foster discipline and we teach our little students to be kind. Our home-based daycare and preschool program follows the Play-based teaching philosophy. We allow our students to learn through play and exploration; we prepare fun and educational activities for them to learn and grow. We have many age-appropriate activities included in their daily schedules such as arts & crafts, singing and music, dancing, painting, coloring, free play, and various fun, creative, educational projects! Our Program We are open from 7:00 to and 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We provide full-time care for infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old and part-time care for children between the age of 2 and 5 years old. We also offer before and after school care for older kids, up to 12 years old (our facility is not far from Forest Edge Elementary School, Aldrin Elementary School, Colvin Run Elementary School and Forestville Elementary School). We are part of the USDA food program and follow the state FDA food program.
