Harding Rd Little Children's Place
About us Welcome to Harding Rd Little Children's Place, our home daycare and preschool in Laurel, MD! I’m the main caregiver and lead teacher and I have a decade of experience in child care and early childhood education. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Psychology. I'm also CPR and First-aid certified, so you can be sure that your child is safe at all times! After having our own kids, my husband and I realized what it felt like to leave your most valuable and loved possession in someone else's hands. It was very difficult, so we decided to open our own daycare, where kids are loved all day and where we can promote an active learning environment. Our facility is equipped with an indoor gym, cafeteria/common area, books, toys, learning posters and rugs. We also have outdoor activities and occasional field trips. Curriculum At our daycare, we use a movement-based philosophy and our pre-K curriculum is taught through a traditional and non-traditional active learning approach. We also follow the Play-based learning principles, allowing kids to learn through play and educational activities. Our program includes yoga, gym time, modern body exercise, discovery time, traditional learning and free play. We have a fully certified teacher on staff. We have Spanish classes (however, please note that we’re not a bilingual program) and teach American Sign Language. I addition to English, I speak Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi and at your request, I can expose your little one to these foreign languages. We are dedicated to helping our little students to enhance their skills they will need to succeed throughout their early educational years! Program We are open year round from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. We provide full-time and part-time care for children as young as 10 months, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. We can also offer Drop-in care for your occasional needs. Our daycare is a peanut free environment and we serve milk and snacks. Location Harding Rd Little Children's Place is in the Scaggsville area of Laurel, MD. We're off Harding Rd and a few minutes away from these major roads: The Interstate 95, Columbia Pike (US-29) and Sandy Spring Rd (route 198). Please send us an email or call to book a tour, we would love to meet your family!

Emmanuel United Methodist Preschool
Emmanuel Methodist Preschool is a Christian school that has been serving Howard County since 1978. Emmanuel was the first preschool to be accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) in 2009 in Howard County. Our stability and longevity is a result of a dynamic, age-appropriate child-centered program, active parent involvement, and dedicated, experienced staff. Our Mission: We provide a safe, nurturing, fun loving environment in which children will learn and grow. We promote Christian values, such as sharing, honesty, compassion, fairness, caring, cooperation, respect, and tolerance. We provide an active, challenging hands-on curriculum that allow the children to explore and discover the world around them. Our Philosophy: Our goal is to provide an exceptional early childhood experience while preparing them for a successful transition into kindergarten. We do this by providing developmentally age-appropriate, hands-on activities and programs which foster emotional, social, physical, and spiritual development. We also provide a safe and happy atmosphere where each child is recognized as an individual person of infinite worth. We help build self-esteem and create a nurturing atmosphere where children can learn and socialize with their peers as they grow at their own pace. We encourage each child to think, reason, question, discover, and practice newly emerging skills, and we help develop language skills, such as listening, speaking, writing, and reading readiness. Curriculum: The curriculum is hands-on and allows the children to explore and discover the world around them. Our MSDE approved and researched-based curriculum incorporates whole and small group, as well as individual instruction in core areas: Social and Personal Development, Language and Literacy, Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Thinking, Social Studies, Art, and Physical Development. Enrichment: Each child participates in extra-curricular activities designed by specialized teachers to offer additional experience in art, music, physical education and storytelling, which fall outside of the normal realm of our school curriculum. Field Trips: Field trips are integrated into the curriculum and provide new experiences. We increase motivation for learning through environmental education programs, visits to nature centers, parks, visiting musicians and storytellers. Chapel: The teaching of Christian values and practices are a valuable part of our program. The children gather monthly for engaging and meaningful age-appropriate Bible based lessons and activities that include storytelling, songs, drama, crafts, movement and prayer.
