About me: I am a mother of three girls who are now young adults. My oldest is a physician practicing in California, my second daughter is an engineer working for the Federal Government and the youngest is also a physician practicing in Maryland. I am a licensed child care provider and can offer care for up to 12 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 7 years old Monday through Friday. I am certified in Medication Administration Training (MAT), CPR and First Aid, and also have course credits through my Child Development Associates (CDA). Experience: I graduated college with a degree in Business Administration. I used to work as a Head Administration of Industrial Clinic & Health for 15 years. Before opening my home daycare, I was a substitute teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools specifically Herndon Middle School, Reston Elementary school and also a kindergarten teacher for a few years. I have been in the childcare business for over 16 years. Program and activities: I have a child care and preschool program specifically designed to teach infants and toddlers about sharing, cooperating, interacting with other children and learning to pay attention during story time and slow playing music class. Toddlers are extremely curious and are developing physically and emotionally at a rapid pace. Daily activities include painting, games, arts, crafts, coloring, playdoh, Singing Songs, Slow Playing Music, Story time, clean up after any activity and out door play time.
Samah's Family Child Care
About Me I'm a parent like you and I have 13 years of child care experience. I’m the owner and main caregiver of Samah's Family Child Care, a small and intimate home daycare and preschool in Reston, VA. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology and I’m CPR & First-aid certified. You can be sure that your little one is safe and will receive plenty of individual attention since I only take a maximum of 4 children. Curriculum I use an age-appropriate curriculum and follow the Play-based learning approach, allowing my students to learn through play and fun educational activities such as story time, arts, singing, and dancing. If weather permits, we go to the nearby community playground for them to enjoy outdoor playtime. If you want, I can also teach your child the Arabic language in addition to English (though my program is not a bilingual daycare). Program My family child care and preschool program is open year-round between 5:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. If needed, I can also provide after-hours daycare from 6:00 pm to 5:00 am, and I can offer weekend child care on Saturdays and Sundays (please call or email to ask about additional tuition for evening care and weekend care.) I provide full-time and part-time care for infants, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. For older kids, up to 10 years old, I can offer before and after school care (my facility is close to Terraset Elementary School and Hunters Woods Elementary School). All children attending my program are served with breakfast, lunch, and snacks, and all these are already included in the tuition. Location Samah's Family Child Care is in the Shadowood neighborhood in Reston, VA. I’m right off South Lakes Dr and Soapstone Dr, near Reston Park. Your day to day commute will be hassle-free since I have easy access to Reston Pkwy (route 602), Lawyers Rd (route 673) and the Dulles Access/Toll Rd (route 267). St. Timothy's Pre-School

The curriculum at St. Timothy’s includes reading readiness activities, science, art, mathematical concepts, nature, music, language arts, and sand... and water play. The school is situated on nine beautiful acres in downtown Herndon and features a well-equipped, fenced playground for outdoor play experiences. The program is enriched by select field trips and visits from local resource personnel. Parents are encouraged to contribute curriculum specialties and to assist with field trips by providing transportation and additional supervision. The daily program provides periods of time devoted to the best principles of both the traditional self-contained, structured class- room and the “open classroom” where the child is free to extend his/her interest by selecting work and play areas in the various activity rooms which are meaningful and stimulating. All activities are planned and supervised by experienced professionals who encourage and motivate the child in the development of his/her individual strengths. Numerous activities are provided for the creation of responsible, cooperative peer relationships.

United Christian Parish Preschool

Our Preschool serves children and families in the Reston community as part of our local ministry. Operating continually since 1975, the Preschool... serves the needs of children that are 2 to 5 years of age. Accredited by the National Association for the Education for Young Children (NAEYC), the Preschool operates during the regular school year, providing half-day morning classes. Philosophy and Goals The Preschool provides a loving Christian atmosphere where all children share a variety of age-appropriate experiences and learn to play and work with others. Our goals include: Social Development: Children learn the actions and language needed to interact positively with other children and adults in group settings. Emotional Development: Children learn to express feelings through words, art and play activities. Teachers strive to increase each child’s confidence in abilities and enhance self-esteem. Physical Development: Children are provided opportunities to increase large and small motor skills through many different activities. Cognitive Development: Love of learning is promoted. Teachers provide a literacy rich environment where children are building a foundation for learning to read and write. Children learn to make choices in activities, to explore and to solve problems in their play. Teachers provide experiences for each child that will be challenging, but not frustrating. Spiritual Development: Children learn to appreciate God’s creation, know God’s love, and recognize everyone as children of God.
