About Me Welcome to Good Luck Estates Children's Place, my home daycare in Lanham, MD! I am a mother of 2 and I have 8 years of child care experience. I hold a Child Development Associate's Degree in Early Education and I am also a CPR and first-aid certified. My mission is to provide quality child care for all families in the community in a warm, nurturing, loving and educational environment. Program My daycare is open between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I care for infants as young as 2 weeks, and for toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. I also provide before and after school care for school-age children up to 13 years old. My family child care program offers various flexible options to accommodate working families (full-time daycare, part-time daycare, etc.). Peanut free and tree-nut free snacks and lunch bunch are included in the tuition (I participate in the USDA food program). Curriculum My home daycare’s curriculum enables each child to develop new skills at their own ability levels, to prepare each child to succeed in kindergarten and to provide a safe, healthy environment for the children so their parents can obtain peace of mind about their child’s care. I also offer a variety of activities in a friendly and supportive environment through Play-based approach. Child Care Goals • To provide high quality, developmentally appropriate child care for preschool children with focus on the individual child’s age and ability to stimulate social, cognitive, physical and emotional growth. • To provide a safe, nurturing and recreational environment for school age children while their parents work or attend school. • To provide opportunities for families to be involved with their children’s education and have access to parenting support and education. Location Good Luck Estates Children's Place is located off Good Luck Rd, with easy access to the I-495 and the Baltimore Washington Parkway. Goddard Child Development Center
NASA Goddard Child Development Center opened its doors in June of 1973, committed to the purpose of combining quality childcare with excellence in early childhood education. GCDC is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) as a nonpublic nursery school with an educational program for children ages 2 to 5 years of age. We are also certified by MSDE as a private school to include a kindergarten program. GCDC’s mission is to provide a developmentally appropriate preschool through kindergarten program where children learn and develop in the following areas of development: - Social-emotional: Through interactions with classmates and teachers, children learn to demonstrate a sense of self, and prosocial behavior; - Cognitive: Children learn problem-solving strategies, logical thinking, and representation and symbolic thinking through a variety of learning experiences in the language arts, mathematics, music, art, and creative play; - Language: Children learn how to express themselves and improve skills such as listening and speaking, reading and writing, and demonstrating an understanding of print concepts; and - Physical: Children learn to control small muscles, coordinate eye-hand movements and improve large/gross motor skills. About Us •DVCLC enrolls children between the ages of 2 and 4 years old. •The hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. •We use the A Beka Christian Learning Curriculum founded on the principles and precepts of God’s Word. •DVCLC offers breakfast, lunch and snack. •Our staff is certified and received credentials through the State of Maryland. •Our staff is CPR and First Aid Certified. •Our staff attends workshops, conferences and seminars throughout the year to stay current with the regulation changes and to enhance our knowledge in early childhood development. Policies & Guidelines •All children must be fully potty trained. •All students must be in class by 9:00 am or a doctor’s note is required for the child to be permitted in class. •There is a 10 hour daily maximum time for care in effect. •If a child is picked up after 6:00 p.m. or beyond their 10 hour maximum, a $3 per minute late fee is charged. •The students must be in the school uniform daily unless otherwise stated. •The students must wear the DVCLC T-Shirt or sweatshirt on all field trips. •Open Door Policy.

This program includes snacks, homework support, indoor and outdoor play and other activities for children to enjoy before or after school. We provide an environment for your child/children to grow through self-guided and structured play. In addition to fostering imagination, this challenges children to expand their social, emotional and intellectual abilities. The Before & After Care program follows the regular Center's calendar. When the Center is closed, the program is closed. When the Center is open for any part of the day, the program is open.
