About Me: Welcome to Stone Mill Kids Playhouse, my home daycare and preschool in North Potomac, MD! I’m the owner and lead teacher and I have 35 years of child care and early education. Before opening my own daycare, I used to be a preschool teacher. I’m CPR and First-aid certified, as well as MAT trained (so if needed, I can administer medication to all the children attending my daycare). Curriculum: I use the Play-based teaching philosophy, allowing children to learn through play. My curriculum focuses on developing motor skills, reasoning, as wells as early literacy and language. In addition to English, I speak Hindi/Oriya and upon your request, I can expose your little one to this foreign language. I also have fun educational activities for my little students such as story and circle time, arts and crafts, etc. And if weather permits, we have outdoor play time! Program: My family child care and preschool program is open year-round between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer full-time care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers (ages between 2 weeks to 5 years old), and can accommodate part-time care for children ages 2 to 5 years old. For school-age kids, up to 12 years old, I can offer before and after school care (my home is within walking distance of Stone Mill Elementary School and a few minutes’ drive away from Travilah Elementary School and Lakewood Elementary School). In the summer, I also run a fun summer camp program! Location: Stone Mill Kids Playhouse is in the Stonebridge neighborhood of North Potomac / Gaithersburg, MD (near Stone Mill Elementary). Harsha's Child Care Center

We are a family-based daycare on Travilah Road in the North... Potomac/Rockville area. My husband and I have been caring for children for a very long time! From the time our own children were little 34 years ago, we have always have many children around that we cared for - those of family, friends, and neighbors. We continued the tradition after we became a licensed daycare provider a few years ago. Our own 2 children are grown now and have successful careers in the DC area. Our philosophy is that we genuinely love and respect each child. Even babies and little ones can sense when the adult is really engaged with them. Our belief is that when children feel loved and cared for, they are happy -and do much better with all aspects of their day, such as transitions, drop off/pick up time, eating, napping, potty training, socializing, and learning. We pay special attention to the individual cues and need of each baby and child, and are able to adapt the environment to match individual needs. We collaborate with the children's families on any special requests from parents. Also, we provide healthy, hot home cooked vegetarian meals that are cooked fresh daily. You do not need to send any packed foods! We feel that children learn through play, movement, and through opportunities to socialize with other children. We stimulate our children with age-appropriate toys, have story and music time, teach them how to count using manipulatives and teach them reading. We also go on trips to the nearby parks mostly daily when the weather permits. To learn more about our daycare, please schedule a visit soon.

Clagett Farm Children's House

Our Impressions Clagett Farm Children’s House is a flexible family... child care provider that offers a variety of part time and drop-in care options. It is a spacious home-based program run by the caregiver, a mom of 2 herself, who uses a play-based teaching philosophy focused on arts and language. Facilities are clean with lots of natural light and lots of age appropriate furniture. The program is taught in a small class setting with very good teacher to child ratios (very few children per teacher). Facilities include a nice lush backyard and a playground with age appropriate outdoor toys. School Environment Conveniently located near a bus stop and a few miles from I-270, the program accepts children as young as 4 weeks through 5 years old and offers a variety of full-time and part-time daycare options, including drop-in care. In addition to regular hours, they also offer evening care until 11pm to accommodate the needs of working families (note that the weekly tuition is for regular hours, 7am to 6pm; please inquire about evening care rates). The daycare is located near Wayside Elementary and also offers before and after school care for children up to 12 years old. The daycare has been in operation for over 10 years, operating out of a smoke-free home. Open year-round, the program has an open-door policy and encourages parents to stop by at any time. The caregiver provides home-cooked meals that are peanut and tree-nut free. She can accommodate special dietary needs and allergies or, if desired by the parents, can serve food brought from home. She encourages nursing mothers to bring breast milk for their baby. Clagett Farm Children’s House has a standard vacation and sick policy. If a child is sick with 101 fever or loose bowels, he/she must be picked up within an hour and be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to daycare. The program does not offer reduced tuition due to illness or vacation. Clagett Farm Children’s House does participate in a subsidized child care program, but parents have to cover any remaining amount of tuition. Learning Environment Clagett Farm Children’s House offers a play-based teaching philosophy that helps children build motor and social skills. The provider also teaches good manners and helps children develop problem solving skills. The caregiver is a native Hindi speaker and can use the language with the children if requested by their parents. This is a small daycare with no more than 12 kids and two caregivers who use redirection as a discipline method. Reading and writing as well as math and science are part of the daily curriculum.
