Hi parents, welcome to Lake Elkhorn Little Children's Place, my home-based daycare and preschool in Columbia, MD. I’m the owner and main caregiver of this small family child care program. I’m a licensed provider and I have 17 years of experience with CPR and First-aid certifications. I’m a mother of 5 myself and I hold an Associates Degree in Psychology. In addition to my child care experience, I’m also a MAT trained, so I can administer medication to all children attending my program. My home daycare offers full-time and part time care from 6:30 am to 5:30 am, Monday through Friday. I accept infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. Before and after school care are both available for school-age kids up to 12 years old (my facility is close to Cradlerock Elementary School, Steven Forest Elementary School, Jeffers Hill Elementary School and Guilford Elementary School). All children in my care are served with snacks, already included in the tuition. In addition to English, I speak Urdu and Gujrati and upon your request, I can expose your little one to these foreign languages (however, my program is not a bilingual daycare). I always strive to make learning as much fun and engaging as possible, which is why I follow the Play-based teaching philosophy. I have fun extracurricular activities for my student such as Story Time, Music, Arts & Crafts, etc. Lake Elkhorn Little Children's Place is located near Lake Elkhorn, in the Owen Brown neighborhood of Columbia, MD. I’m right off Cradlerock Way and Broken Land Pkwy. Your daily commute to work will be convenient since I have easy access to these major roads: Patuxent Fwy (route 32), Columbia Pike (US-29) and the I-95. About Me: Welcome to Lake Elkhorn Kids Playhouse, my family home daycare in Columbia, MD! I am the owner and main caregiver and I have 6 years of child care experience. One of my top priorities is your little one’s health, so I will make sure that they practice the following habits: washing hands before and after meals, after using the bathroom and of course, after playing. I also clean and sanitize all toys in my facility to make sure that kids are free from bacteria and germs. Program: My family child care program is open 7 days a week from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. I can provide full-time and part-time daycare for infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers through preschoolers up to 5 years old (please note that regular tuition covers Monday through Friday; please call or email to ask about tuition for weekend care). I also offer before and after school care for school-age children up to 12 years old (my home is close to Cradlerock Elementary School, Stevens Forest Elementary School, Talbott Springs Elementary School). My facility offers a peanut and tree-nut free environment and I serve snacks to all kids in my care (included in the tuition). Curriculum: My curriculum offers a lot of creative and learning activities such as meet & greet and circle time. I will engage your little one in different educational activities such as arts, music, drawing, painting, blocks and many more. As part of our daily routine, I will read storybooks to the children. They will also have plenty of outdoor playtime since I have a fenced backyard perfect for riding bikes and my home is close to the community park.
