Curriculum & Philosophy: English Village Early Learning Center uses the Creative Curriculum to stimulate each child's sense of exploration and discovery. The Creative Curriculum's foundation is based off the findings of six main theorists. Through their views on children, the curriculum is constructed as a guideline for how we as a center can be united to provide the best possible care. As a center, we use these principles to help make decisions about the care and education of the children. The teachers use their knowledge of child development, the knowledge of children’s individual needs, strengths and interests, and the knowledge of the social and cultural context within each child. By using these theorists’ beliefs, we have a solid base to begin when planning for your child. At English Village Early Learning Center, we understand that your child’s care and education is a top priority. With this understanding, we have designed our curriculum to be all-encompassing and to provide a holistic education for your child. Moreover, our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of children at every stage and age – from infancy to junior kindergarten. Rest assured, our curriculum is designed to enhance your child’s learning while still preserving their fun and creativity. Call us today for a tour of our unique center.
Superkidos Child Care
Welcome to Superkidos Child Care, my licensed home daycare and preschool in Bethesda, MD! About Me: I’m a professional and experienced child care provider with over 6 years of experience working with diverse personalities and a wide range of ages. Before opening my own family child care program, I've worked for several years in other home daycares as well as child care centers. I've been coordinating child care activities, providing instructional & recreational support as well as supervising groups of children. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and I’m CPR & First-aid certified. I can administer medication to all children attending my program since I’m M.A.T trained. I’m also a mother myself, so I know how challenging it parents to find a loving, safe “second home” for your little one. At my daycare, your children will be treated as if they were my own. I'm patient, positive, dedicated and really enthusiastic about working with children! Curriculum: My home is a bilingual Spanish daycare and preschool, so children can learn this foreign language at a very young age. I follow the Play-based learning approach, promoting learning through fun and educational activities such as Arts & Crafts, Music, Story Time, Yoga and Manners. If weather permits, we go outside to enjoy our outdoor playtime. My goal is to develop each child’s emotional, behavioral and social skills through my curriculum. Program: I’m open year-round from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I provide full-time care for infants as young as 2 weeks, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old and part-time care between the age of 2 and 5 years old, including children with special needs. My facility is peanut and tree-nut free environment, and I serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks to all kids in my care (all meals are already included in the tuition!) Before and after school care are both available for school-age kids, up to 6 years old (I’m close to Burning Tree Elementary School and Bannockburn Elementary School). Please note we have a cat named Tiger living with us at the house. He is up to date on all of his vaccines and he is never around children as he lives in a different part of the house. Location: Superkidos Child Care is located in the Bannockburn neighborhood in Bethesda, MD. My home is right off River Rd (route 190) and Wilson Ln (route 188). I'm centrally located with easy access to the I-495 Capital Beltway, Massachusetts Ave (route 396) and Goldsboro Rd (route 614). Please call or send me an email to schedule a visit, I would love to meet you and your little one!

Wonders Child Care

Fondly referred to as the “Wonders Neighborhood,” this Wonders school... age program serves children from Bethesda Elementary and welcomes children who commute from Ashburton, Bradley Hills, Chevy Chase and Wyngate Elementary Schools and Pyle and Westland Middle Schools. Wonders offers flexible enrollment options and provides before care starting at 7:00 am and after school care until 6:30 pm Monday through Friday. We offer full day programs when school is closed and half day programs on early dismissal days. Wonders at Bethesda is an active community of teachers and children who play and create active games, climb and play on the playground, have quite time for homework, and explore arts and crafts every afternoon. Curriculum The primary goal in our school age program is to create communities for children and their families that are fun, nurturing and enriching. Children are active learners. Wonders at Bethesda provides an environment where children can safely grow through self-guided and structured play. In addition to fostering imagination, play challenges children to expand social, emotional and intellectual tools. School age teachers carefully plan the program to balance homework with exercise and promote healthy eating habits. The before school program is designed as a gentle transition time from home to school. Children have the opportunity to read, finish homework, play board games or create artwork. Outside time and active games are also offered. Wonders' after school program curriculum is built around the concepts of friendship and being a good sport. Activities are designed to create opportunities for all children to explore and experience in ways that are meaningful to them. Activities incorporate seven learning areas: language and literacy, mathematical thinking, scientific thinking, social studies, personal and social development, physical development and the arts. The afternoon is a blend of child initiated and teacher initiated activities including outdoor play, afternoon snack, group time, choice times, homework and reading time. On days when schools have scheduled early dismissal or are closed, we provide a half or full day program. These longer days give us the opportunity to enhance our programming by planning special events, inviting specialists in to share their expertise or exploring the larger community on field trips.
