Highland Woods Kids Playhouse
About Us: Highland Woods Kids Playhouse is a licensed home daycare and preschool in Silver Spring, MD. I’m the owner of this bilingual Spanish daycare and I run my program with my full-time assistant. I’m a professional caregiver with a decade of child care and early childhood education experience, and my assistant has 8 years of experience. We’re both moms and we’re CPR & First-aid certified, as well M.A.T trained (so if needed, we can administer medication to all children in our care). We also both hold a Child Development Associate’s Degree. Curriculum: We use the Creative Curriculum and offer various engaging educational activities such as Arts & Crafts, Music, etc. We want our little students to learn through play and fun, creative activities so that they're happy while learning and growing in our care. Our daycare is a bilingual Spanish program, so we teach our students the Spanish language. This is an amazing opportunity for your child to learn a second language at a young age! Program: Our family child care program is open year-round from Monday to Friday, between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm. We provide full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 3 months, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs. Our children are served with peanut-free lunch and snacks, and these are all included in the tuition. Bradmoor Educational Playhouse
About Me Welcome to Bradmoor Educational Playhouse, my licensed home daycare and preschool in Bethesda, MD. I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have 13 years of child care and early education experience. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and I’m CPR & First-aid certified. I am an experienced teacher, and my passion is working with children. I just love being immersed in their world! A dream came true when operating my family child care program, a place where I create a nurturing, creative, and joyful environment for children. Before opening my own home-based daycare, I was a teacher at a multilingual international elementary school in California. Prior to working there, I was also a teacher in Iran after earning a degree in communication. I am very passionate about art and early childhood education, and I am determined to expand my knowledge in this field. Philosophy I truly believe in creating an environment conducive to curiosity, creativity, and altruism. I think that a simple but organized environment, in which natural materials play a pivotal role, best serves my educational purpose and is productive for learning and growing. Most of my teaching materials are Montessori-based. Curriculum I have taken advantage of elements of the Waldorf teaching philosophy to encourage and nurture creativity and imagination in children. I also employ elements of the Reggio Emilia approach to develop a curriculum that is reflective of my mindfulness of the children's different personalities. Having these differences in mind, I strive to instill in children a profound respect and understanding for the world they live in. In addition to English, I speak Farsi, Persian and Turkish and upon your request, I can expose your little one to these foreign languages (however, please note that my daycare is not a bilingual program). Program My family child care program is open year-round from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. I provide full-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 6 weeks and 5 years old. I run a peanut and tree-nut free environment and can serve lunch (with additional fee) to your child. Location Bradmoor Educational Playhouse is in the Bradmoor neighborhood of Bethesda, MD. I’m right off Greentree Rd, near Bradley Park, within walking distance from Bradley Hills Elementary School (also close to Wyngate Elementary School and Bethesda Elementary School). Your commute to work will be convenient since I have easy access to Old Georgetown Rd (route 187), Bradley Blvd (route 191) and the Capital Beltway (I-495). Please call or send an email to book a tour, I would love to meet your family :)

Forest Knolls Kids Playhouse

Forest Knolls Kids Playhouse is a home daycare in Silver Spring, MD. I’m the owner and main caregiver, and I have 7 years of child care experience. I... hold an Associate's Degree and I’m CPR & First aid certified, as well as MAT trained (if needed, I can administer medication to children in my care). I’m also a mom of 2 kids, so I can relate to parent's concerns and challenges when it comes to finding a safe and affordable daycare! My family child care program is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday (year-round). I provide full-time care for infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers through preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs. I serve snacks to all kids in my care and due to possible allergies, I run peanut and tree-nut free child care facility. Green Acres School Extended Care

Green Acres School was founded in 1934 as the first racially integrated school in Montgomery County, by parents who wanted to develop, through their... children’s educational experience, a deep sense of social responsibility. Green Acres instills a strong set of academic, interpersonal, and leadership skills that will serve students well in high school, college, and into adulthood. As you consider Green Acres, ask yourself, would you be excited if your child: Developed strong and respectful relationships with each teacher? Engaged in challenging and interesting schoolwork that builds core academic skills? Practiced being a respectful citizen, collaborator, self-advocate, and confident leader? Experienced the joy of music, the arts, and athletics? Developed a lifelong appreciation for our multicultural world and diverse local community? Enjoyed the outdoors, developing a sense of stewardship for the environment? Loved coming to school every day? At Green Acres, we are committed both to the principles of progressive education and to ongoing exploration of what this means in the 21st century. I invite you to explore our website to gain a deeper understanding of who we are as a leader in progressive education. Green Acres faculty members understand that at the heart of a great school lies genuine respect for each student and a curriculum that challenges students academically, ethically, and socially. We all understand that students need to become strong readers, writers, speakers, mathematicians, and scientists. We also believe that students must become independent thinkers capable of much more than rote memorization. Rather than simply demonstrating what they remember, our students show what they can do with information and how they can apply concepts through engaging projects and multi-faceted problems. At Green Acres, children not only write, read, and compute. They also play, plant, design, act, build, sing, invent, explore, and perform community service. Our teachers are masters of their subjects, who teach with a holistic approach and with a keen understanding of, and sensitivity to, the complexities of each child’s development.
