Stone Mill Kids Playhouse
About Me: Welcome to Stone Mill Kids Playhouse, my home daycare and preschool in North Potomac, MD! I’m the owner and lead teacher and I have 35 years of child care and early education. Before opening my own daycare, I used to be a preschool teacher. I’m CPR and First-aid certified, as well as MAT trained (so if needed, I can administer medication to all the children attending my daycare). Curriculum: I use the Play-based teaching philosophy, allowing children to learn through play. My curriculum focuses on developing motor skills, reasoning, as wells as early literacy and language. In addition to English, I speak Hindi/Oriya and upon your request, I can expose your little one to this foreign language. I also have fun educational activities for my little students such as story and circle time, arts and crafts, etc. And if weather permits, we have outdoor play time! Program: My family child care and preschool program is open year-round between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer full-time care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers (ages between 2 weeks to 5 years old), and can accommodate part-time care for children ages 2 to 5 years old. Drop-in care is also available for occasional needs. For school-age kids, up to 12 years old, I can offer before and after school care (my home is within walking distance of Stone Mill Elementary School and a few minutes’ drive away from Travilah Elementary School and Lakewood Elementary School). In the summer, I also run a fun summer camp program! Location: Stone Mill Kids Playhouse is in the Stonebridge neighborhood of North Potomac / Gaithersburg, MD (near Stone Mill Elementary). My child care program is right off Travilah Rd, just a few minutes away from route 28 (Darnestown Rd/W Montgomery Ave) and the I-270. Thank you for your interest in my daycare, please send an email or call to schedule a tour. I’m looking forward to meeting your family!

Harsha's Child Care Center

We are a family-based daycare on Travilah Road in the North... Potomac/Rockville area. My husband and I have been caring for children for a very long time! From the time our own children were little 34 years ago, we have always have many children around that we cared for - those of family, friends, and neighbors. We continued the tradition after we became a licensed daycare provider a few years ago. Our own 2 children are grown now and have successful careers in the DC area. Our philosophy is that we genuinely love and respect each child. Even babies and little ones can sense when the adult is really engaged with them. Our belief is that when children feel loved and cared for, they are happy -and do much better with all aspects of their day, such as transitions, drop off/pick up time, eating, napping, potty training, socializing, and learning. We pay special attention to the individual cues and need of each baby and child, and are able to adapt the environment to match individual needs. We collaborate with the children's families on any special requests from parents. Also, we provide healthy, hot home cooked vegetarian meals that are cooked fresh daily. You do not need to send any packed foods! We feel that children learn through play, movement, and through opportunities to socialize with other children. We stimulate our children with age-appropriate toys, have story and music time, teach them how to count using manipulatives and teach them reading. We also go on trips to the nearby parks mostly daily when the weather permits. To learn more about our daycare, please schedule a visit soon.

Academy Child Development Center, Inc. was founded in July 1981 as a... not-for-profit educational corporation by Marilyn Fleetwood.
